How do the guards from Shawshank Redemption symbolize The Roman army?
Can you go in to detail please, thanks

I have put some serious thought into this and truly think that the answer is They Don’t.

In many ways when doing an essay about anything I get the impression that people are reluctant to give an answer that argues against the question. In this sense you are I think expected to give a comparison between the two sets of peoples that link them together. But there is none.

The Roman Army was an army who like all armies fought battles.
The Guards were jailers who look after prisoners and stop then escaping jail.

There is no symbolism there at all. Further more I looked up the word symbolise in the Oxford English dictionary and I have come to the conclusion that the question is nonsense. Do look the word up in the dictionary. But a doubt you will get away with saying that the question is a nonsense question. I would if I were you argue against any kind of symbolism between the two. Even if you don’t agree with me in that the question is stupid and a bad use of the English lanuage there is still no link between the two.
